Brian O’Brien is an Irish singer song writer from limerick city, Ireland, who now resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Brian performs original music along with traditional Irish ballads in venues all over Vancouver and the province. He has just recorded and releases his second studio album. Brian loves the experience of intimacy when performing in a busking environment in a bid to attract new audiences to his work.
Influences in his song writing draw greatly from legendary Canadian singer songwriters eg. Gordon lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen & Neil Young. He also draws great influence from American folk including Bob Dylan, Tom Waits & Bruce Springsteen.
Finally the third and most important well of influence is undoubtedly his love of Irish music. Artist like The Clancy Brothers, The Dubliners, Brendan Behan & Christy Moore.
Brian has also Dabled in many other styles of music including Hip Hop, R&B and Heavy Metal. He is steeped in many forms of songwriting.
