Crossbow

Crossbow showcases the creative and sensitive musicianship of two accomplished musicians. Neil Burnett (harp, penny whistle, flutes) has had a wide-ranging career as performer and composer. His solo album (harp and penny whistle) Into the Green (1998) took him on three European tours. He has done session work for such artists as Doug Cox, and Will Millar of the Irish Rovers; and founded a baroque-psychedelic folk orchestra The Widdershins, featuring members of the Barenaked Ladies and Colorifics. Neil has composed scores for the History Channel’s Saint Patrick: The Man and the Myth, and independent productions for film and TV.
Christina Zaenker has contributed cello and vocal arrangements to over 40 albums. She has worked with many recognized Canadian songwriters including Kevin Kane (Grapes of Wrath), Linda McRae (Spirit of the West), Rae Spoon, Shane Koyczan, and Leela Gilday, and was part of the chamber folk band Morlove. She regularly performs classical repertoire with various orchestras in Kamloops and Vancouver, including the West Coast Symphony and Brandenburg Orchestra.
Neil and Christina have been performing as the duo Crossbow since 2009 and they were featured at the 2016 Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Festival. Their music is a mixture of celtic, folk, and classical, with occasional storytelling about the history and stories behind their music.
