The Gingersnaps are a young and lively Celtic fiddle duo who play a variety of upbeat Scottish, Irish, Canadian and other traditional fiddle tunes. Their musical influences include Nathalie McMaster, Adam Sutherland, Iain Fraser, Oliver Schroer, Hanneke Cassel and a number of other Canadian and Scottish fiddlers.
These two redheaded sisters have played together since they began fiddling over nine years ago, and currently play with both Bad to the Bow and The Coast String Fiddlers musical groups based on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia. They have also attended fiddle camps and workshops in various locations in British Columbia, Washington State and most recently in Scotland.
The Gingersnaps have busked for many years, and can be found playing at local farmer’s markets, Gibsons Public Market and at the Persephone Craft Beer farm on the Sunshine Coast. One of their favourite busking locations is near an excellent gelato shop in Gibsons Landing.
