Bero Saker, a musician from Latakia, Syria plays Middle-Eastern Syrian and Arabic traditional music and songs with the beautiful unique sound of the twelve string fret-less Oud. His accomplished playing and singing creates the original atmosphere of music in the Arab world and the Middle East. In combination with traditional songs, Bero also performs oriental covers of pop, jazz and Western songs with a unique traditional new vibe!
Bero was introduced to music even before birth when his father played the oud for him, to his pregnant mother. His musical family also includes his grandfather who is a known folk singer in Syria. Bero has toured around Syria playing with many Arab singers and he worked as a studio manager and producer. He also plays with Vancouver Inter-cultural Orchestra, and performs at numerous events around Vancouver and British Columbia. He teaches Oud and he is currently pursuing an Arts degree at UBC.
