Stephen is a singer-songwriter from Ireland who plays predominantly original material steeped in blues, jazz and rock ‘n’ roll. Through a combination of beatboxing, looping and guitar playing laced with various effects, his goal is to recreate the soothing, mellow sound of an entire band. Stephen has been playing the guitar for over 10 years and singing since 2013. In addition to his own material, he plays an array of cover songs from some of his favourite artists, including those written by close friends from Canada and beyond. Outside of Granville Island, Stephen can be found performing at a variety of bars and breweries in and around the city. This is his 7th year performing on Granville Island. He has busked all over the world, from London to Santa Monica, and Stephen references the strong community among fellow buskers that makes Granville Island a unique and special place. Stephen is thankful for those he has met throughout his time here and looks forward to meeting many more friends, strangers and fans in the near future.
