We are happy to announce that there will be a staged return to Busking beginning Wednesday, June 17.
The buskers have appreciated hearing that the Granville Island community and visitors have missed them as they have missed GI too. The first stage will involve amplified musicians and storytelling only, at four of the nine outdoor busking locations (Triangle Square, Public Market Courtyard, Ferry Landing and Railspur Park). Circle performances, magic and indoor acoustic busking are unfortunately not possible until further notice, due to social distancing protocols. There will be a safety plan for busking in addition to signage reminding visitors of distancing measures. We hope to expand to more of the outdoor locations later in the summer.
The daily busking schedule will resume being posted online and on the notice boards at A Bread Affair and in the Public Market Courtyard. Please do check out online performances by the buskers also. You are welcome to reach out to Claire, the Busking Program Coordinator for further info:
