Betty sings and plays a wide variety of songs: folk, pop, country and western as well as songs from popular musicals. She chooses tunes that guests on Granville Island will enjoy and recognize; perhaps triggering a fond memory. All the better if someone gets up and dances … applause usually follows! Whatever the age!
She focuses on songs from the fifties, sixties and seventies, but can also be found playing some contemporary songs as well. Betty’s favourite artists are Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary, the Eagles, the Band, Roy Orbison, and the Beatles. She can be population specific when she feels a mood set in; upbeat and playful or more thought provoking and heart-felt alongside an exciting collection of songs for kids, the elderly, young people, and especially the baby boomers. Betty is always filled with gratitude and appreciation and loves being able to entertain folks on Granville Island.
