Istanbul Trio

Istanbul Trio interprets their arrangements and compositions shaped by musical genres from different cultural backgrounds. The Istanbul Kemenche is an indispensable instrument of the Aegean and Anatolia, which has its roots in the Byzantine Empire and has reached the present day with the Ottoman Empire. The piano is the main instrument of Western Classical Music and has the full range of sounds; therefore, the piano itself can be thought of as an orchestra. Def, bendir and daire are Turkish Music instruments used in religious and non-religious music and are used in today’s world music scenes. Musician siblings and their father take the listeners on an impressive journey by blending their compositions and arrangements on selections from Turkish folk, jazz and Argentina tango music with their improvisations.
