Jeff is entertaining from the moment he’s in front of the mic, with his personal warm, and engaging stage presence, rich acoustic guitar work, a soaring voice, harmonica riffs, and storytelling lyrics. His style is a blend of modern folk, blues with a dash of country. He has performed with Jim Burns, the Odds, and Barney Bentall, and has opened for Spirit of the West. His repertoire is a mix of original and cover songs with family friendly lyrics and fun and engaging banter. He loves to involve the crowd that is up for some clapping and sing-a-longs. He has performed at summer music festivals including the Harmony Arts Festival, and the Mission Folk Festival, as well as theatre and cafe performances around town. He has performed at The Chan Centre, Centre for the Performing Arts, the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and the Centennial Theatre.
Discovering the beauty and power of music from his folk singing parents, he learned writing and performing songs was a great way to process emotions as well as entertain others. When Jeff was a year old, he contracted a rare spinal cord virus that caused permanent paralysis in his legs. He learned how it felt to grow up differently and was determined to overcome the many challenges it presented. Despite the set-backs, he excelled as one of Canada’s top para-athletes in and a world record holder in swimming competing in three Paralympics, and later qualified for the men’s national rowing team competing at the World Rowing Championships for Canada. He draws on these and other life experiences as an entertainer and speaker.
