Karin, originally from Chile, is an accomplished accordionist with a passion for bringing music to life in diverse settings. She has performed at a wide range of venues, including restaurants, weddings, birthday celebrations, and charity events for seniors. In 2013, she earned second place in the prestigious Chilean National Accordion Competition.
With a dual background in speech therapy and music therapy, Karin possesses a unique ability to connect with her audience on a deeper emotional level, using music as a bridge to touch hearts and minds. Now based in Canada, she continues to make a difference by working with people with intellectual disabilities, where she integrates her musical talents into her work, enriching lives through the power of song.
Karin’s versatile repertoire spans approximately two hours without repeating a single piece. She performs music from a variety of cultures, including Italian, Russian, French, German, Chilean, Brazilian, and Argentine traditions, along with her own original compositions. The accordion, a portable yet powerful instrument, allows her to perform in both intimate and open-air settings without the need for amplification. Despite the instrument’s weight (about 10 kilograms), Karin alternates between sitting and standing during performances, maintaining a lively connection with her audience and encouraging them to dance whenever the mood strikes.
