Lindsey Michie and Emily Absalom – Two Trains

All aboard! Bringing their Nashville briefcase filled with rough and friendly folk songs, Two Trains is co-conducted by fiddle player Emily Absalom and guitarist Lindsey Mickey. Whether lifting spirits with traditional Celtic tunes, playing Bach on the recorder, or harmonizing like the Beach Boys, this duo’s music is for everyone… and their grooves are infectious!

Though able to play everything from zither to drums, Two Trains really come alive when they jam on what they know best- guitar and fiddle. I you’ve taken the Seabus in the last year, chances are you’ve seen these two performing their unique and often jaunty take on Celtic folk music- perhaps even with a group of kids dancing excitedly at their feet. While everyone can find something to like in their music, kids especially seem to find it magical, and who can fault them for that!

While relatively new to the busking scene- Two Trains joined the Translink program at the beginning of 2023- Lindsey and Emily are no strangers to performing live. Both have toured Canada on multiple occasions, and Emily has even performed extensively in Ireland. It’s in her blood. Her father, a successful harpist, indeed was a Granville Island mainstay who regularly performed alongside Lorena Mckennitt.
